An architect friend of mine very graciously took me on a tour of his favorite stone and tile stores, by way of encouraging me to undertake a renovation I've been considering for a dozen years. We saw some breathtakingly dramatic slabs of marble.

We also saw a mini-parade, perhaps three or four vehicles taking up only one lane of the avenue (I'm thinking they didn't need a full-fledged parade permit). It seemed to be associated with Krishna in some way, although it didn't seem like the Hare Krishnas.
