I believe these are some egg sacs washed up from the sea (set off nicely on the bright blue and white of the rented beach chairs):
Near the beach chairs, a crab scuttled in and out of its hole near some seaweed:
The girls frolicked in the ocean and dug a deep hole of their own in the sand (big enough they could both crouch down in it).
Later that afternoon, we went for a sunset sail & snorkel expedition on a catamaran. It was a bit bigger than the Wetzels' catamaran which I remember from back in the day.
The crew kept informing us that this was a party boat, and luckily they took on most of the burden of partying it up. In any event, the view was lovely.
However, the snorkeling area was marked by this somewhat inauspicious landmark:
The snorkeling was pretty good. A lot of fish with bright purply-blue tails (they looked almost neon, although I'm pretty sure they were not actually giving off light), and some needlefish types (though they're actually called something else). My favorite was a dark fish with what seemed to be lighter polka dots - sort of a 50's feeling to it.
A charming couple graces the catamaran as we make our way back to the mother ship:
Another passenger enjoys the sunset:
The boat cut a fine silhouette:
Fading to twilight:
A view of the mother ship:
One bit of cloud catches the last bit of light:
Goodbye, St. Kitts!
