I took no pictures today. We drove up around the island to a place on the French side where we could take the ferry to Isle Pinel. The girls played at being sea turtles, on land and in the beautiful shallow waters near our beach chairs. Seaweed was growing thickly in the area.
We saw some rather large lizards (perhaps iguanas) behind the restaurant. One was in a tree, the others on the walk or walls. They were certainly habituated to humans, and we wondered if they were pets.
After that, we went to the Loterie Farm, which is a "private nature reserve." We didn't have time to go ziplining (rats!!!) but instead went on a little rainforest hike. Some great views from the top. I'd have liked to visit the cafe/restaurant there (and linger a while). Maybe next time!
