Subway Riddles

I saw a sign on the subway saying "Courtesy is contagious. Let it start with you."

Unfortunately, "courtesy" starts with "see". And "it" - if that's what they're referring to - starts with "eye".

How would things be improved by starting either of these words with "you"?

It's all so confusing.
